Doomscrolling in Disney World Ride Lines Is Over. Grandma Hobbies Are Back.

Does your screen time make you wince when you see it? Yeah, us too, and considering we spend so much time in Disney World waiting in line for rides by ourselves, it’s no wonder it’s so high.

Disney World lines can be pretty wild

But we’d be lying if we said our eyes weren’t beginning to struggle, and we want other hobbies than just staring at our phones, so we’ve set out on a mission to find other hobbies. We know a lot of you are thinking the same thing, so we’ve decided to help everyone out at one time! We’ve compiled a list of some of the best alternative hobbies to do while you’re in line at Disney World, so that way we can all get off our phones together.

Now, listen, you need your phone for a lot of things in Disney World, but that doesn’t mean you have to be on it 24/7. Yes, you need it for dining reservations and to tap into the park, as well as to check the map for wait times, walk-up waitlists, and more, but when it comes to standing in line, that’s a different story.

Gotta wait in line!

Waiting in line can be hard, and quite frankly, boring. Especially for younger kids, those who are neurodivergent, or those who find it hard to wait in line for extended periods of time for other reasons. Your phone, and games on your phone, are a great way to keep yourself occupied, but do you really want to be staring at a screen ALL day? We certainly don’t.
