Captain Hook and Wendy are sailing into Disney Dreamlight Valley, while Dory will help players explore underwater in the game’s next paid expansion, The Keepsake Sea.
‘The Keepsake Sea’ Coming Next Month

Gameloft revealed the new characters and gameplay details during its
Disney Dreamlight Valley | 2026 Showcase today, ahead of the expansion’s November 18 launch.
The expansion was first previewed in September, when Gameloft announced Captain Jack Sparrow, Megara, Milo Thatch, and the ability for players to transform into customizable Merfolk.
The story of The Keepsake Sea begins at Dazzle Beach, right at home in Dreamlight Valley, where players will find a mysterious statue containing a message from a lost friend. The journey will bring players to three new island biomes.

Shipwreck Shores is a pirate-themed bay where players will meet Milo and Jack Sparrow. Candy Cove is a frosty fantasy landscape made of desserts, where Megara and—as revealed today—Captain Hook will appear. In the Kingdom of Oublié, players will find a fanciful setting of coral and seashell designs that stretches above and below the water.

Also revealed in today’s showcase, Wendy Darling from Peter Pan will be joining the cast of characters coming to the new expansion.

Each biome has an underwater area to explore. Dory from Finding Nemo will also join the Valley as a new Adventure Companion who helps players navigate underwater and find items beneath the sea. On land, she travels inside a bubble, similar to other aquatic characters revealed below.
New Features and Pirate Ship Gameplay

Players can customize their Merfolk form with different ears, fins, arms, torsos, and tail patterns, along with color options. Merfolk can interact with villagers and the environment, opening up new possibilities for Photo Mode and DreamSnaps. Players can also swim across the surface in the Valley and previous expansions, then dive into ripples to collect fish.

Underwater areas can be decorated with themed architectural kits, water props, and furniture. Special platforms let players raise and lower decorations at different elevations, and Decoration Blueprints will return with centerpiece furniture to restore.

The expansion also adds an Enchanted Pirate Ship to use in exploring new and uncharted waterways. Players can customize its sail and flag, use its crane to salvage items from the water, and bring up to two villagers along as crewmates. Below deck, a customizable Captain’s Cabin includes crafting, cooking, and storage. The ship also has a dedicated Photo Mode for players to pose with their custom crew.
New Star Path, Lilo, and Other Updates

A new Seafaring Star Path begins today and runs through December 2, alongside the ongoing Haunting Elegance Star Path. New rewards include nautical furniture, Merfolk attire, captain’s clothing, and much more. The free “Ohana Holidays” update arrives December 9, bringing Lilo to the Valley and adding a new holiday-themed Star Path.

The Keepsake Sea Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99, includes Flounder and Sebastian as additional Adventure Companions. Each will have a special quest featuring Ariel, unlock rewards as they level up, and be able to follow players on land and underwater.
The standard expansion purchase includes 5,000 Moonstones; the Deluxe Edition includes 10,000 Moonstones, Gilded Shell Tops, and a Merfolk Mansion house style.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition owners will have access to the expansion on launch day without an additional purchase.

Players who purchase the expansion and play between November 18 and December 2 will receive an exclusive mermaid fin. A Twitch Drops promotion running October 21–28 offers a Pirate Crocodile Companion skin, with a Sea Witch Ship skin planned for the expansion’s launch.
The 2027 Roadmap Update

The showcase also included an early look at the game’s 2027 roadmap.
The latest roadmap teases three updates for the first half of 2027. The first promises “two princes,” with clues pointing to Prince Charming from Cinderella and Prince Naveen from The Princess and the Frog.
A spring update teases an “iconic villainous duo,” accompanied by an image of a certain evil lab that suggests the Valley will welcome Yzma and Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove.
The summer update hints at an unexpected adventurer and his canine companion: its Up-themed imagery suggests Dug, the canine companion, who may be accompanied by Carl and possibly Russel.
These character details are based on the roadmap clues shown above, and technically they have not been individually confirmed or formally announced.
