The boardwalk in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is almost completely demolished, with just a small section remaining as Disney continues construction on Piston Peak.
Frontierland Boardwalk Almost Completely Demolished

At the beginning of September, the boardwalk in Frontierland was completely closed off to guests for Piston Peak construction. Prior to that date, about half of the boardwalk had been closed since early July.

Within the construction walls, we can see that almost all of the boardwalk has been demolished. There are still a few pieces of foliage that remain.

There isn’t much remaining behind the construction wall except for a few wooden birdhouses.

On our recent visit, we noticed only this small portion remaining of the original boardwalk, which sits near where the Westward Ho kiosk was located. Westward Ho was closed and completely demolished in early August.

Above is an image of the boardwalk from last month for comparison.
Piston Peak National Park is a Cars-themed expansion to Frontierland featuring two rides: Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin Along. The area replaces the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island. Check out all our Piston Peak construction updates.
