If you love collecting Gashapon capsule toys, you may want to delay your next EPCOT trip for a bit, as the kiosk is currently closed in the Japan Pavilion.

Gashapon Machines Unavailable

The Gashapon kiosk in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion opened in August 2025, bringing Bandai’s popular mystery capsule toys into the parks. The four-sided EPCOT kiosk features nine Gashapon machines on each side — with options commonly including Hello Kitty, anime, and animal toys — with a touchscreen to choose and pay for your selections. Once you pay, you can twist the knobs below your selected machines and receive your capsules.

However, today our reporter noticed that all the Gashapon machines were closed, with brown curtains drawn down over them. We’re speculating that the machines may be unavailable because they’re being updated with new options, as Bandai releases dozens of new Gashapon collectibles every month.
