It looks like Goofy’s hot rod isn’t coming back to Disney’s Pop Century Resort at Walt Disney World. Barriers have come down at the resort.
Goofy’s Hot Rod Removed From Pop Century Resort
The car was removed in September, reportedly due to a broken windshield. The spot where it used to sit next to a Goofy statue was surrounded by barriers. Those have now been removed, leaving no indication that Disney intends to bring the car back.
A slightly faded rectangle of concrete shows where the car used to be. Crews have removed the car’s supports and patched the holes left behind.
The patches point to the car’s permanent removal, although Disney has not confirmed whether or not the car will return. We will keep an eye out on future visits to see if it returns.
The vehicle was located between the 1960s and 1970s sections, near the edge of the courtyard area and not far from the Everything POP main building.
