Walt Disney Imagineering shared a look at the updated lighting for the Grand Canyon and Primeval World dioramas at the Disneyland Railroad.
Disneyland Railroad Lighting Update

Walt Disney Imagineering took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at all the updates they have made to the Primeval World and Grand Canyon dioramas at the Disneyland Railroad.
Disneyland Railroad’s Primeval World diorama recently reopened in late August with this new lighting system and restored dinosaurs. Then, the Grand Canyon diorama reopened in September.

In their video, they shared that the lights for both diorama scenes have gone 100% LED, and they replaced over 300 lights with about 170 on scene.
They also shared that one of the updates they made was adding a DMX system (Digital Multiplex). This addition allows the Imagineering team to control the lighting and lighting color for each scene digitally across over 2,000 channels.
The lights for the Disneyland Railroad used to operate 24/7, but now only turn on when a train passes through.
Imagineering also said these updates support the maintenance team, and they have updated the lifespan of the dioramas that are a part of the attraction. Watch the video below:
