I’ve Been Eating at Disney World for 30+ Years and This Is Still My Favorite Food Event

I’ve Been Eating at Disney World for 30+ Years and This Is Still My Favorite Food Event

I’ve been eating my way around Disney World for more than 30 years. That means I have watched restaurants come and go. I’ve eaten my weight in festival food. I’ve stood in EPCOT holding three tiny plates at once while attempting to balance a drink on my forearm. I have opinions about Disney snacks that are stronger than some of my opinions about actual important things.

2025 Live Entertainment

And after all those years, one Disney World food event still gets me ridiculously excited. It’s the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic.

Yes, EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival gets most of the attention. I love that festival, too. But if you asked me which Disney World food event I would choose for one really good night of eating, drinking, and wandering around with absolutely nowhere else I needed to be? I’m heading to the Swan and Dolphin. And the 2026 event is coming up VERY soon.

This Is a VERY Different Kind of Disney Food Festival

First, we need to talk about what makes the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic different. The event takes place outside the parks, along the causeway between the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels. You don’t need a park ticket. You don’t need a Park Pass. You don’t even need to be staying at the Swan and Dolphin to attend. You buy your event ticket, show up, and start eating.

The 2024 Food and Wine Classic!

For 2026, the Food & Wine Classic takes place November 20th and 21st from 5 PM to 9 PM. The event is celebrating its 17th year and brings together dishes from the Swan and Dolphin’s chefs, wines, beer, spirits, live entertainment, and more.

And here’s the part I REALLY love. Your Causeway ticket includes unlimited food and beverage tastings. Read that again — Unlimited.

Burnt Ends and Pimento Melt

There is no standing at a booth debating whether you really want to spend another $9 on a three-bite appetizer. There is no loading money onto a gift card and watching the balance evaporate over the course of an evening. If you try something and immediately decide you need another one, GO GET ANOTHER ONE. This is dangerous information in my hands.

Single-night tickets for 2026 are $215 per person, or $234.90 with taxes and service fees. A two-night bundle is $387 per person, or $422.94 with taxes and service fees. That is absolutely an investment for one evening. But once I start comparing it with what I can spend on dinner, drinks, and entertainment during a normal Disney World night, the math gets much more manageable.

The Food Is the Main Event

This isn’t a festival where the food feels like something designed to be assembled as quickly as possible for several thousand hungry people. The Swan and Dolphin has some serious culinary muscle behind it, and the Classic lets those chefs show off a little. We’ve eaten some spectacular dishes here over the years.

In 2024, our favorites included a Shaved Asparagus Salad from Todd English’s bluezoo with cured yellowfin tuna, miso egg yolk, and yuzu Kewpie; a Burnt Ends & Pimento Melt; a Red Wine Braised Beef Short Rib with browned butter potato gnocchi; Butter Poached Bay Scallops; and a Chocolate Blackberry Choux Puff.

Bluezoo’s Dynamite Shrimp Tempura

Then 2025 came along with dishes like a Red Wine Braised Wagyu Short Rib from Bourbon Steak, Blue Crab Stir-Fried Rice from bluezoo, and some genuinely gorgeous desserts.

This event has a habit of serving the kind of food that makes me stop mid-conversation. You know the bite. You take it, stare down at the plate, and suddenly the person talking to you no longer exists because you need a moment alone with a short rib.

The 2026 Menu Is Already Making Me Hungry

And 2026 appears determined to continue that tradition. Bourbon Steak is serving a Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib with celery root espuma and shallot marmalade. Rosa Mexicano has Flautas de Pollo, Tacos de Cochinita Pibil, and a whole chips and salsa bar. For the Love of Florida is bringing Ropa Vieja, Red Grouper, Fried Green Tomatoes, and a Florida Citrus salad.

Rosa Mexicana

Over at Chinatown, you’ll find Pan-Fried Shrimp & Pork Dumplings, Turnip Cake, Taro Puff, and Shu Mein. The Beer Garden has wings, brats, and fresh-baked Bavarian pretzels. Carnival Corner is serving Texas Red Chili, a Char Siu Pulled Pork Slider, Tornado Potatoes, and Old Bay Spiced Nitro Popcorn.

Kimonos

And then there are the desserts. Coffee Crème Brûlée. A Cinnamon Roll Waffle with dulce de leche ice cream. Campfire Mocha with chocolate coffee mousse and toasted marshmallow. The Peach with white peach mousse and peach compote. A Snickerdoodle Banana Profiterole.

Desserts

I would like to remind everyone that this event lasts four hours. So, bring your appetite and wear a waistband that has some give to it.

Make a Night of It

This may be the biggest reason the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic has stayed at the top of my list. It feels like an EVENT. Disney World vacations have a way of turning dinner into another task on the itinerary:

  • Get to the reservation.
  • Eat.
  • Check the wait times.
  • Decide whether you can make it back to EPCOT.
  • Check your phone.
  • Hurry to the next thing.

The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic gives you permission to stay put. You can take your time here. Grab a bite, follow it with a glass of wine, and keep moving until something else catches your eye. Maybe it’s the live music. Maybe it’s another savory dish you somehow still have room for. Or maybe it’s that dessert you spotted earlier and have been thinking about ever since.

Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic Entertainment

For 2026, the entertainment lineup includes The Rundown, Live Effect, Stella Beat, Slickwood, and returning Bubble Lounge performers Claudia & Alex. Nobody is asking me to scan into an attraction in seven minutes. This is my kind of Disney night.

And Then There Are the Drinks

The “Wine” part of Food & Wine is not decorative. The Classic features wine, beer, and spirits from around the world, and certified sommeliers are part of the event. But this isn’t just a chance to grab a drink; it’s a chance to try things you might never order by the bottle or commit to at a restaurant. And if you REALLY want to nerd out about it, the Classic has historically offered ticketed educational experiences separately.

Toki Whiskey

Past events have included wine blending, Champagne tastings, craft cocktail classes, beer seminars, Italian wine education, and even pasta making. In other words, you can go from “I like this wine” to discussing grape varietals with a sommelier much faster than you anticipated.

Swan and Dolphin

For 2026, the event is also advertising new celebrity chef experiences featuring Todd English and Michael Mina. This is where the Classic starts feeling much closer to a true culinary event than a theme park festival.

It Doesn’t Require a Park Ticket

I cannot overstate how much I love this. The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is open to the general public. You don’t need to be staying at the resort, and you don’t need to buy a Disney World theme park ticket.

That also makes this one of my favorite excuses to plan a full non-park day. Sleep in, spend some time by the pool, maybe make a Disney Springs detour, then head back to the hotel and trade the theme park clothes for something a little less Florida-soaked.

Fried Apalachicola Oyster Sliders

By the time you get to the Swan and Dolphin, “dinner” has turned into four hours of Wagyu short rib, dumplings, tacos, desserts, drinks, and whatever else pulls you toward another booth. I will take that kind of rest day every single time.

I’ve Been Doing Disney Food for Decades. This One Still Wins Me Over.

After 30+ years, it takes a little more to surprise me at Disney World. I’ve seen the snacks shaped like Mickey. I’ve eaten the limited-time cupcakes. I’ve attended the festivals. I’ve made the dining reservations. I’ve planned entire afternoons around food booths. I still love all of it.

Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic

But the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic still feels different from every other Disney food event I do. For four hours, I’m not thinking about rides, wait times, parade schedules, or whether I can cram one more thing into the night. The entire plan is food, drinks, music, and whatever catches my attention next.

Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic

Eat something great. Try a new wine. Stop for the band. Go back for dessert. That’s the whole evening. And after more than 30 years of watching Disney vacations get more complicated, I think that simplicity is a big part of why I still love this event so much. For one night, the food gets to be the attraction.

The 2026 Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic takes place November 20th and 21st from 5 PM to 9 PM. Tickets are available to the general public, and you do not need to be a Swan and Dolphin hotel guest to attend. And yes, I will once again be approaching those unlimited tastings with all the restraint you would expect from someone who has spent 30+ years treating Disney food like a competitive sport. Which is to say, very little. Stay tuned to DFB for more.
