Hong Kong Disneyland celebrated Skipper Day at Jungle River Cruise, revealing new Cast Member costumes, a Star Skipper Board, and Jungle Navigation Company theming.

Jungle River Cruise Updates

Hong Kong Disneyland managing director Tim Sypko and the Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassadors shared photos and details of the day. Sypko wrote, “Had so much fun celebrating with our AMAZING Jungle River Cruise Skippers today! Nobody tells a story, lands a joke, or brings an adventure to life quite like them. They’re what make this attraction at @hkdisneyland so unique!”

Hong Kong Disneyland welcomed a new term of Star Skippers, with Mike and Jack handing the reins to Snowman and Leon. They also introduced a Star Skipper Hall of Fame board in the attraction’s queue. The names of past Star Skippers and those who have made “meaningful contributions to the Jungle Navigation Company” are featured.

The board is the first reference to Jungle Navigation Company at Hong Kong Disneyland. First mentioned on the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, the fictional company’s backstory was significantly expanded with the opening of Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen in 2015 and the reimagining of Jungle Cruise in 2021.

The Skippers have new costumes, replacing their traditional khakis with blue pinstripe shirts and dark brown pants. Their new sailor hats have “Jungle Navigation Company” on the front and are inspired by the one worn by Dwayne Johnson as Frank Wolff in the Jungle Cruise movie. Star Skippers wear a red badge on their shoulder.
