The lobby for Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is completely closed during its ongoing refurbishment.
Kidani Village Refurbishment

The main lobby and entrance have been closed since mid August. The north lobby corridor is now closed, too, with walls blocking the pathway guests could previously take through the main lobby.

Check-in is temporarily located in the Palace Library. Bell services are operating outside, with a canopy cover.

The second-floor lobby elevators and outdoor terrace observation deck are unavailable. Signs point guests around the closed areas.

The stairs from the main lobby to the lower floor are closed. Plastic covers the railings, and it appears they are being repainted.

More of the thatched straw ceiling wallpaper has been restored. Except for a black spot on one side, it appears to completely cover the ceiling. The wallpaper was removed in September, but crews began reinstalling it a few weeks later.

One of the chandeliers has also returned. It seems work on the ceiling is almost done.

To walk from the bus stop to the other side of the resort, guests have to pass the lobby, heading to the pool, go down a ramp, and then take an elevator. Signs help point guests to different rooms and amenities.

Because this is an extra-long walk, Disney is offering shuttles to transport guests around the resort. There’s a shuttle stop at the underground parking area.
The refurbishment of the Kidani Village lobby is being completed in phases. The lobby is scheduled to reopen this weekend. The south lobby corridor will then be closed from October 26 through November 6. The following areas will not be available during this time:
- Community Hall
- The laundry room
- Lobby restrooms
- Outdoor terrace observation deck
- Palace Library
- Safari So Good Arcade
