Construction continues to progress on the scaffolding-enclosed Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The ride remains operational, with gaps in the scaffolding that let guests see the park unobstructed when the elevator doors open.
Tower of Terror Construction Update

In early July, scaffolding installation began above the gift shop at the Tower of Terror and then moved to the front of the facade facing the rest of the park. Later on, scaffolding was installed all the way around the attraction. In our last update, we noted some repainted details were visible now that some scaffolding on the side was removed.
Since then, a new ladder has been installed at the front of the attraction, stretching all the way up to the Hollywood Tower Hotel sign. The ladder is likely for crews to work on the appearance of the sign.

Around the other side of the building, we noticed the upper balcony and sides of the main archway are now a light gray color, suggesting these areas are being primed. As we saw back in August when other areas were repainted, crews start with a light gray primer base coat before adding weathered detailing. We can also see new temporary wood structures near the railing as well.

The light gray primer coat continues on the other side of the archway and the balcony railing above it. Beige drop sheets cover portions of the archways and columns below.
Further up the side of the attraction, this section of wall is no longer surrounded by scaffolding or covered in plastic drop sheets. The wall has fresh pink paint with dirty detailing below the windows.

Over by the entrance to Tower Hotel Gifts, the main shop for the attraction, we could see white residue left near two potted plants. This could be from the construction work. Some of the columns at the shop’s entrance are still covered in beige scrim as well.
In other Tower of Terror news, a new colorful collectible medallion machine has been added inside the gift shop, and you can also purchase a souvenir Mickey head-shaped plate themed to the attraction.
