Magic Kingdom Remains World's Most-Visited Theme Park, Epic Universe Enters North American Attendance Rankings

Disney and Universal continue to dominate theme park attendance worldwide, according to the 2025 TEA Global Attendance Index. Magic Kingdom is the world’s most-visited theme park, and Epic Universe has entered the rankings for the first time ever.

2025 Theme Park Attendance

According to the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), Magic Kingdom remains top of the list when it comes to worldwide amusement/theme park attendance. The Walt Disney World theme park saw just a 0.2% drop in attendance: approximately 17,836,000 in 2024 to 17,800,000 in 2025.

Here’s the full top 20, including Disney and Universal theme parks:

  1. Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort
  2. Disneyland Park at Disneyland Resort
  3. Universal Studios Japan
  4. Tokyo Disneyland
  5. Shanghai Disneyland
  6. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom
  7. Tokyo DisneySea
  8. EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort
  9. Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris
  10. Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World
  11. Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort
  12. Universal Studios Beijing
  13. Universal Studios Florida at Universal Orlando Resort
  14. Universal Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort

  16. Universal Studios Hollywood
  17. Hong Kong Disneyland
  18. Europa-Park
  19. Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris
  20. Efteling

Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris and Disney’s Hollywood Studios swapped positions from last year, with Disneyland Paris seeing a 5.7% increase in attendance.

In just North America, only Disney and Universal Parks are in the top 9, followed by SeaWorld Orlando at number 10.

Universal Epic Universe, which opened in May 2025, is number 13 on the list with approximately 4,000,000 visitors. It will likely be higher when the 2026 numbers are released next year.

The number 1 water park in North America was Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, although it was number 6 worldwide.

It’s followed by Universal Volcano Bay in second place. Disney’s Blizzard Beach is number 4 but saw a 50.5% increase in attendance from 897,000 in 2024 to 1,350,000 in 2025. It saw more operational time in 2025 as it was open at the same time as Typhoon Lagoon for the first time in 6 years.

Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou, China is the number 1 worldwide.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Universal Studios Japan took the number one spot followed by Tokyo Disneyland and then Shanghai Disneyland. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom was number 4, followed by Tokyo DisneySea, Universal Studios Beijing, and then Hong Kong Disneyland.

Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris was the most-visited theme park in the EMEA region, followed by Europa-Park and then Walt Disney Studios Park. The second Disneyland Paris park also had an attendance increase of 5.7%.

We’ll probably see a bigger attendance increase for the Parisian parks next year following the 2026 opening of World of Frozen and the rest of the Adventure Bay expansion at Walt Disney Studios Park, now named Disney Adventure World.

Disney Experiences was the number 1 theme park group worldwide. It had an overall attendance increase of 1.1%, from 145,196,000 in 2024 to 146,825,000 in 2025.

Universal Destinations & Experiences was in third place after Fantawild Group. Universal had an attendance increase of 5.4% from 58,975,000 to 62,138,000.

Florida has the nine leading parks in the U.S. with a total of 79.6 million visits. California has six parks with 47 million visits.

TEA points to Epic Universe as a driver of increased attendance in North America in general. The top 20 North American parks recorded 143 million visits, an increase of 1.5%.

“The numbers suggest that the new gate is already functioning as part of a broader resort strategy rather than simply adding another park to the market,” said TEA. “Epic Universe gives Universal a larger destination footprint, a bigger sphere of influence in the market, and more opportunities to capture spending across multi-day tickets, hotels, food and beverage and other resort experiences.”

Regarding Disney, TEA said, “Disney is maintaining healthy attendance while growing capacity, expanding the portfolio, and driving guest spending through continued investment. That includes focusing on food and beverage, merchandise, premium experiences, resort stays as well as expansion of Disney Cruise Line. The broader Disney portfolio also illustrates the importance of reinvestment in established parks. Rather than relying on a single major new attraction to generate attendance growth, the company continues to refresh individual parks and add new lands and experiences within mature destinations.”

Disney is adding new attractions and expansions to parks around the world, including two rides at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure; the reimagined Tomorrowland at Disneyland; Piston Peak National Park in Magic Kingdom, Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Tropical Americas in Disney’s Animal Kingdom; and a Spider-Man land at Shanghai Disneyland.
