Monstropolis Food and Beverage Details Revealed for Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney has shared new details about the food and drinks planned for Monstropolis, the upcoming land inspired by Monsters, Inc. at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new area is scheduled to open in 2027 and will include two dining locations – Harryhausen’s and Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza.

The culinary teams developing the menus are working with Walt Disney Imagineering to translate details from Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University into dishes and beverages designed for human diners. Disney describes the menus as familiar foods with unusual, monster-themed touches.

Harryhausen’s

Harryhausen’s will be a Table Service restaurant based on the location seen in Monsters, Inc. Inside, a new Audio-Animatronic head sushi chef will prepare food in the center of the dining room.

The restaurant’s menu will include more than just sushi! Guests will also be able to order a selection of ramen bowls inspired by traditional Japanese flavors. The ramen bowls will include tonkotsu broth and ramen noodles, along with details such as fishcake esembling eyeballs and green eggs.

The restaurant is being designed as a more polished dining destination within Monstropolis while still appealing to a range of ages. Disney culinary and beverage leaders Brian Piasecki and Evan Rosenthal discussed the process of adapting the films’ visual details into food that remains recognizable and approachable.

Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza

Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will offer a Quick Service option inspired by the mascot character featured in Monsters University. The restaurant is intended to resemble a gathering place for college-age monsters, with familiar pizzas to both humans and monsters.

A mystery character from Monsters University will also make a real-world appearance at the restaurant, although Disney has not yet provided additional details .

The beverage menu will include “Blort”, Monstropolis’ most popular soft drink featured in the films. Disney’s beverage team is bringing Blort to life as a purple frozen beverage with “scream apple” foam.

The drink is one of several ways the new dining locations will reference the fictional city’s food culture. Harryhausen’s will represent an evening restaurant in Monstropolis, while Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will be tied to the everyday college life shown in Monsters University.

Monstropolis is planned for 2027

The upcoming land will bring Monstropolis to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, allowing humans to enter the city for the first time in the world of the films. The food and beverage offerings are being developed alongside the land’s other experiences, with Disney focusing on recognizable locations, characters, and visual details from the movies.

Disney has not announced final menus, pricing, or a specific opening date for either restaurant. Additional information about Monstropolis is expected ahead of the land’s planned 2027 opening.
