Crews continue concrete work on the new Cars Ridge Run Rally ride, part of the Piston Peak National Park section of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.
Concrete Work for Cars Ridge Run Rally Ride
When we stopped by the area on Wednesday, October 28, we noticed that additional concrete had been poured to expand on the concrete that was added earlier this month, as seen in the very center in the photo above.
Many crew members wearing yellow and orange high-visibility vests were seen prepping for the next batch of concrete to be poured.

The above image shows an aerial shot of the concrete that was photographed earlier this month. To the right of the sloped concrete section was a wooden form, which is the area where we saw the new concrete.

Many construction-related vehicles were also seen parked in the central area of the site, which is now more level and smooth.

In the area closest to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which has struggled with rainwater flooding, dirt berms can now be seen in an attempt to contain the muddy water in the middle.

The former Rivers of America has been completely filled, and Tom Sawyer’s Island has been removed, as the Cars franchise is coming to Magic Kingdom in an expansion of Frontierland.
Cars Ridge Run Rally will be the main attraction of Piston Peak. The more family-friendly ride will be Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along.
The Cars area is inspired by the American West and real national parks, incorporating forests, waterways, geysers, and mountainous scenery.
The area will feature homages to Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America. Piston Peak also has a new original car character, Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, who pays homage to classic Disney cartoons.
