A fresh batch of aerial shots from photographer bioreconstruct reveals more installed track inside the skeletal framework of the Monsters, Inc. door coaster under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Track Installed for Monsters, Inc. Door Coaster
Staring through the skeletal building framework, we can see several white track pieces that have been installed on the black supports. More pieces of coaster track are staged on the ground to the right.
This angle shows the swooping curve of this section of track. The additional staged pieces are at the top right.
Pulling back, we can see this curving section of the coaster becoming clearer. The area to the left is the first part of the Monsters, Inc. door coaster building to be enclosed.
The final top-down shots show more of the black track supports in place.
We can also see the dual curved dome shapes of the themed building exterior where guests enter.
Door Coaster Beam Signing
Cast Members were recently invited to sign the beams of the new Monsters, Inc. door coaster. Beam signing is a long-standing cast member tradition for new Disney attractions being built.
Monsters, Inc. Door Coaster Construction
Monstropolis, which replaces Muppets Courtyard, will open in phases. Most of the land will open next year, but Disney hasn’t announced an opening timeframe for the coaster, which will be Disney’s first vertical lift and first suspended coaster. Aerial photos from last month provide a clearer picture of how trains will travel through the door coaster currently under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Parts of Monstropolis will open to guests in 2027 while construction continues on the door coaster. Follow our Monstropolis construction updates for more coverage of the upcoming land.
