Remy, Emile, and their fellow rats at EPCOT’s France Pavilion have moved into a new animated window effect that now occupies the area where guests once collected their 3D glasses.
New Queue “Window” at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

The former glasses pickup area now resembles a long, illuminated window, with dark framing dividing the frosted-looking panes in a lattice diamond pattern. Animated silhouettes pass behind the window, creating the illusion that characters from Ratatouille are bustling around just out of sight.

Remy, Emile, and other rats travel along the length of the window in the same direction as passing guests. Some of the animated shadow sequences include Remy and Emile rolling cheese, and other rats transporting more food items, priming guests for the food frenzy that awaits them on the attraction.
The opaque panes obscure the characters’ details, presenting them as moving shadows rather than full-color figures. The effect turns the former glasses distribution area into another storytelling element in the queue.

The pickup location became unnecessary after Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure switched from 3D to 2D. Disney announced the conversion in October 2025, with the attraction closing November 10–13 for the work. It reopened with 2D projections on November 14, 2025, eliminating the need for guests to wear 3D glasses.
Alongside the conversion, Disney announced additional props and lighting enhancements for the queue and attraction. New set pieces appeared inside the ride in September, including a spilled spaghetti box in the kitchen scene and a cutting board topped with food and kitchen items in the finale.

Meanwhile, the Disneyland Paris version of the attraction recently made headlines when a ride vehicle malfunction left guests facing backward throughout their adventure.
