With an El Niño looming over the United States, NOAA predicts the Walt Disney World Resort area will see above-average rainfall this winter.
Above-Average Rain at Walt Disney World

NOAA just released its prediction map for the United States, “Seasonal Precipitation Outlook,” for the months of December 2026 through February 2027.
This map shows that the Walt Disney World Resort area has an elevated chance of receiving above-average rainfall, as indicated in the dark green area of Florida.

NOAA also released its prediction map, “Seasonal Temperature Outlook.” According to this map, the Southeast, which is home to the Walt Disney World Resort area, has normal chances of experiencing near-normal temperatures this winter.
When discussing the effects of the El Niño on the Southeast United States, Ken Graham, director of NOAA’s National Weather Service, said, “As we know from decades of observations, a very strong El Niño will likely bring a southward and eastward shift to the jet stream for the contiguous U.S., which tilts the odds toward stormier weather across the South.”
