While we’ve been on the lookout for the Glob Theater sign at Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and find ourselves sad every day it isn’t there, that doesn’t mean there isn’t work being done on the land!
Progress, y’all! Progress!
We stop by the construction site nearly every day to see what’s new, and while sometimes it feels like watching paint dry (because often that’s quite literally what’s happening), there are times that Disney surprises us with some new details, which is exactly what just happened the other day! While we were walking by, we noticed that not only is there some new paint and details along the buildings, but…are those WORDS?
Our eyes did not deceive us! There are lots of new details over at Monstropolis, and one of the biggest ones is the letters we can see peeking out beyond the scaffolding. From what we can see, it looks like the word “Cans,” and while we can make out what look like two more words to the loft, we can’t read them clearly just yet. We also love the go-away green at the very top of the building — we wonder if that will stick around, or if it’ll be painted in the near future.

We also really love seeing just how many teeth have been added all around the buildings — the windows, all around the rooftops — pretty much anywhere teeth could be put, Disney has placed them there.

It also looks like some painting is happening on one of the other buildings — while the unpainted section is still brown, it’s looking like it’ll be an orange shade. Similar to some of the windows we’ve seen so far.

There’s still scaffolding all over the front section of the land, so we know there’s still a lot of exterior work left to do. The land isn’t expected to open until sometime in 2027, and the suspended coaster in the back of the land won’t be opening with the rest of the land, so Disney certainly does still have time.

With so much scaffolding, it does look like there’s a heavy emphasis on that exterior work at this time, which makes us wonder just how many more details we’ll begin to see.
