The fake trolley left the park in June and returned this week, but did not reopen until Friday, October 30.

During the off-site refurbishment, caricature artists temporarily moved to Echo Lake.

The trolley appears to be repainted but there are no major design differences.

This kiosk is a small-scale version of a red trolley car and was once used as a merchandise stand called Trolley Gifts starting back in 1994 when Sunset Boulevard opened. The 694 on the front is a nod to when it opened in June of that year.

It can be found on Sunset Boulevard, just a short walk from The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and several adjacent quick service dining venues.

Over at Disney California Adventure, Disneyland’s proper, transit-ready version of the Red Car Trolley opened in 2012 as part of the $1 billion reimagining of Disney California Adventure. It used to ferry guests between Buena Vista Street and Sunset Boulevard with stops in between. The trolley’s last day of operation was February 8, 2025.
