More scaffolding has been removed from the Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, leaving the lightning strike scarring more visible.
More Scaffolding Removed from the Tower of Terror

In our last update (left photo above), we noted that the thematic lightning strike detail that runs diagonally across the front of the attraction exterior was starting to take shape. Now we have started to see more and more of this detail as more scaffolding has been removed from the top of the tower (right photo above).

At the very top of the tower, peeking out from beneath the scaffolding that remains, are the purple, gray, and blue marks from the fictional lightning strike at the center of the attraction’s story.

Looking at the center of the tower, there doesn’t appear to be any scaffolding removed from this section, but gaps remain by the elevator doors so as not to obstruct the guests’ view.

Around the corner, we did notice fresh wood planks that were arranged in an interlocking pattern, lying across the balcony.
While the ride is undergoing exterior refurbishment, the attraction does remain operational.
