The LEGO Store in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort appears to be undergoing some exterior construction again, as the Star Wars characters have now been removed.
Star Wars Characters Removed from LEGO Store Display
During our recent visit to Downtown Disney, we noticed that the Star Wars-themed window outside of the LEGO Store was now surrounded by LEGO-themed construction walls. In addition, Blueskin weather- and water-resistant barriers have been wrapped around the yellow brick frames.
We could also see that the platform behind the life-sized “brick-built” AT-ST was now empty. A large minifigure of Teebo the Ewok was previously standing here.
Moving to the front of the display, we noticed that the Chewbacca minifigure that could be seen sticking out of the top of the AT-ST has also been removed.
For reference, this is what the display normally looks like:
We’re not sure why Teebo and Chewbacca have been removed or when they will return. According to the Disneyland Resort website, the LEGO Store is still operating as normally during the construction.
Downtown Disney LEGO Store Refurbishment
The LEGO Store has been undergoing extensive changes outside this year. In January 2026, the iconic LEGO model of Prince Phillip battling Maleficent atop the store was restored with new elements.
The Woody and Buzz LEGO sculptures, which had been present at the entrance to the Downtown Disney LEGO Store since its opening, were removed in February. The rocket and backdrop were removed shortly afterward.
Then in April, yellow and white frames made of oversized LEGO bricks appeared around the exterior window display areas, and a Frozen display began to take shape, shortly followed by an Avengers-themed display. The last major window change was in May with the addition of Chewbacca driving an AT-ST.
Later on, in June, guests could step into a LEGO version of Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A. with a photo op, celebrating the launch of the new LEGO set, #43302 Main Street, U.S.A.
