Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) has released the results of the second quarter of the fiscal year, which officially ends in March 2027, on October 27, 2026.
OLC Q2 Results for Tokyo Disney Resort

The report stated that the Tokyo DisneySea 25th anniversary events helped the consolidated sales, cash flow, and operating profit reach “record highs.”
Meanwhile, the report also discussed the Disney Cruise Line Japan ship, the Disney Imagination, and the current timeline status on non-specific sailing dates.
OLC stated that the progress remains on schedule for the ship’s launch in the second half of the fiscal year 2028 (spring 2029), with year-round operations supposedly starting during fiscal year 2029, as previously reported in the Q1 report. This report is a confirmation that progress remains on track for the ship.
The report also stated that the Disney Imagination is sized at about 140,000 tons and can hold about 4,000 guests and 1,500 crew members. As stated in an earlier report, the company hopes to bring in about ¥100 billion in annual sales and 400,000 passengers within the first couple of years after officially setting sail.
The Disney Imagination
The Disney Imagination will embark on short cruises of 2- to 3-night trips out of Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, aiming for cruise durations that can easily be part of a Tokyo Disney Resort vacation.
On the stern of the Disney Imagination, character statues of Ariel and Sebastian will be found. This will be the first Disney ship not to have Nassau as the home port written on the stern, instead marking Tokyo. Construction of the ship’s hull began this month, October 2026.

Disney Cruise Line and OLC announced the ship back in 2024. Like most Disney Cruise Line ships, it will be constructed by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. It will be the fifth Wish-class ship, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and upcoming Disney Believe. This means it will be the same size and approximate layout as the other ships in the class.
The OLC-operated ship will sail out of Tokyo, Japan, beginning in 2029. OLC established Disney Cruise Line Japan and agreed with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha and Yusen Cruises Co., Ltd. to help them operate the ship.
OLC’s previous financial results laid out plans for the ship’s operation. They expect it to take 2- to 4-night cruises out of Tokyo International Cruise Terminal at a price range of ¥100,000 to ¥300,000 per person.
This will be the second Disney Cruise Line ship sailing exclusively out of Asia, following the Disney Adventure.
Onboard Disney Imagination, guests can look forward to stage shows performed in a theater seating over 1,300 guests; stage shows on the outdoor deck featuring Disney Characters; programs offered at various locations inside the ship; and greeting Disney Characters in exclusive Disney cruise attire.
The ship will also boast approximately 30 unique food and beverage venues, from three main dining restaurants each with a unique theme and menu, to cafes and bars, alongside shops offering Disney Imagination-exclusive merchandise and more. Dedicated areas offering engaging programs for children will be available, while adult guests can enjoy exclusive areas.
