A guest recently shared their experience of being evacuated from Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They recorded what happened and shared it on social media.

Guests Evacuated from Tower of Terror

In an Instagram post shared by user @miaamiaa_, the elevator slowly descended with the lights turned on. The vehicle came to a stop at a slightly opened metal door that seemingly led to an industrial maintenance or backstage area of the thrill ride.

What was supposed to be a normal ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios turned into an experience “I’ll NEVER forget,” the user captioned their post. “Not only did we get stuck on the Tower of Terror, but we actually got to see how Disney evacuates guests when a ride stops!”

“From the moment we realized something was wrong to finally getting up, I caught the whole experience on camera!

This happened during a previous Disney trip, but I HAD to bring this video back because WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!”

The user didn’t go into detail about how the ride broke down. Watch the video below:

Recently, the ride has been undergoing a significant exterior refurbishment. The tower’s lightning strike scarring was recently updated. Despite the refurbishment, the ride continues to operate.

Tower of Terror voice actor Rod Serling recently visited Walt Disney Imagineering, teasing possible attraction updates.
