The permit contracts MLC Theming, Inc. for “General Construction” at 681 Marina Aly, which is linked to Theater in the Wild. This theater currently holds the Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! stage show.

Filed on October 27, the permit expires in exactly one year from that date.

MLC’s specialties include “scenic painting and aging of structures, fabricating facades, carving rock work.” Their portfolio mostly showcases rock work and themed structures.

Disney has not announced the specifics on the construction. As of October 28, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! remains open to guests, with the following daily showtimes:

  • 11:00 a.m.
  • 12:00 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m.
  • 2:30 p.m.
  • 3:30 p.m.
  • 4:30 p.m.

Theater in the Wild is located near the former Dinoland U.S.A., which officially went extinct in February 2026 to make way for Tropical Americas. The new land is currently under construction and is set to open soon. While Disney originally stated the land was going to open in 2027, that timeline was removed in September.
