Construction continues to transform the area surrounding the upcoming Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida, and work continues on the waterfront walkways alongside the project.
Waterfront Walkways at Universal Orlando

In a series of photos shared by photographer @bioreconstruct, we can get a closer look at the pathway work being done along the Universal CityWalk waterfront.
The walkway has had to be reconfigured as construction on Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift progresses. The coaster’s footprint extends farther toward CityWalk than the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit attraction, requiring the pedestrian route to be shifted.

In a recent aerial photo, the old reconfigured walkway can be seen on the left, and the new upper walkway can be seen under the spike element.

Wooden forms have now been installed in between and parallel to the paths, likely in preparation for concrete for a retaining wall. The walkways are particularly notable because the coaster’s track comes very close to the CityWalk waterfront in this area.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will feature a 170-foot vertical spike near the lagoon, making the attraction highly visible from the pedestrian areas surrounding Universal Studios Florida.
Recent aerial views have also shown construction crews adding themed elements around the attraction, including shipping-container-inspired scenery and large truck props near the launch area. The coaster’s track installation is now well underway, with additional work continuing on the station and surrounding structures.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and is scheduled to open at Universal Studios Florida in 2027. The new coaster will feature ride vehicles capable of rotating 360 degrees to simulate the sensation of drifting.
