Winnie the Pooh Turns 100! Here’s Where to Celebrate at Disney Parks

Winnie the Pooh Turns 100! Here’s Where to Celebrate at Disney Parks

Hey, Disney Friends! Can you believe our favorite silly old bear is officially 100 years old? A whole century of Pooh Bear, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and their friends from the Hundred Acre Wood. I think we can all agree that it’s worth celebrating the iconic Winnie the Pooh with a little extra hunny! This classic tale was one of my first Disney memories, and it has held a special place in my heart ever since.

Over the past few months, we’ve been treated to commemorative merchandise and some delicious-looking collaborations inspired by Pooh’s love of honey. My shopping wish list has certainly had a few additions, but there is something about seeing these characters in person that merchandise simply cannot replace. Sometimes, you just want to track Pooh and Tigger down in the parks, give them a celebratory cuddle, and come away with a photo you’ll treasure long after your holiday ends.

If you’re planning a visit to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort, the good news is that there are plenty of ways to bring a little Hundred Acre Wood happiness into your trip. Here are the experiences to look for across the two USA resorts, so let’s take a look at where you can connect with Pooh and friends during this very special anniversary year.

Winnie the Pooh at Walt Disney World Resort

Magic Kingdom

  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Climb aboard for a journey through the Hundred Acre Wood, visiting classic scenes and enjoying familiar songs alongside Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, and their friends. This is a lovely way to celebrate the stories that have been bringing families together for generations.
  • Meet Winnie the Pooh and Tigger at The Thotful Spot: If a birthday cuddle and photo are high on your wish list, make time to look for Pooh and Tigger at this Magic Kingdom character greeting location. Character appearances are offered at select times, so check the latest schedule during your visit.
  • Disney Fab 50 Character Collection: Look for the golden statue of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet near The Crystal Palace on Main Street, U.S.A. It’s a sweet photo opportunity and a fun little anniversary stop as you explore the park.
  • The Crystal Palace: Make a meal part of your Pooh celebration at this greenhouse-inspired restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are offered as all-you-care-to-enjoy buffets with Pooh and friends. Advance reservations are recommended. I loved doing this with my kids when they were younger; this was their favorite Character Dining stop!
  • Hundred Acre Goods: Head into Fantasyland to browse merchandise inspired by Pooh and his friends. If you’re hoping to bring home a souvenir to mark the centenary, this is one shop worth adding to your plans.

EPCOT

  • Meet Winnie the Pooh in the United Kingdom: Keep an eye out for Pooh at the United Kingdom pavilion in World Showcase. This is another opportunity to meet the bear himself and capture a holiday photo, with appearances taking place at select times.
  • The Toy Soldier: While exploring the United Kingdom pavilion, take a look inside this merchandise location for selected Winnie the Pooh-inspired items.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • The Magic of Disney Animation: This experience offers select nods to Winnie the Pooh and his friends as Disney characters and stories come to life. It’s another place for fans to keep an eye out for Pooh-inspired details during their visit.

Disney Springs

  • World of Disney and Disney Ever After: You don’t need a park ticket to enjoy a little Pooh-inspired shopping. Disney Springs offers selected accessories and merchandise at these locations, making them worth a browse if you’re spending a non-park day exploring the resort.

Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Park

  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Head to Bayou Country for this gentle attraction inspired by A.A. Milne’s classic stories. Climb aboard an oversized beehive and revisit familiar scenes and songs with Pooh and the Hundred Acre Wood gang.
  • Meet Winnie the Pooh and Friends: This one is my absolute favorite, and where I have been having my photo taken with Pooh and Tigger since I was a kid. Outside Pooh Corner in Bayou Country, look for Pooh and his friends making character appearances throughout the day. For anyone hoping to mark the centenary with a photo and a hug, this is the spot I’d have on my list. Check the day’s schedule for current appearance times.
  • Pooh Corner: After your character encounter, stop by this candy kitchen for sweet treats, including caramel apples and fudge. You’ll also find Winnie the Pooh apparel, keepsakes and Disneyland souvenirs, so you can celebrate with something sweet and perhaps take a little piece of the Hundred Acre Wood home.
  • Emporium: Located in Disneyland Park, Emporium is another place to browse for selected Winnie the Pooh-themed apparel, accessories and merchandise.

Downtown Disney District

  • World of Disney: If you’re spending time outside the parks, make a stop at World of Disney in Downtown Disney District. Selected Winnie the Pooh merchandise is available here, giving you another chance to find a centenary-inspired souvenir without heading into Disneyland Park.

Whether you’re planning a full day around Pooh-inspired attractions, hoping to meet Tigger for a photo, or simply looking for a sweet souvenir, there are plenty of ways to include this milestone in your Disney vacation. Just remember that character appearances, merchandise availability, and experiences can change, so check the latest resort information before you go and throughout the day.

For me, though, the best part of this celebration is the reminder that some Disney characters never really grow old. A century after Pooh first appeared in A.A. Milne’s original book, we’re still finding reasons to return to the Hundred Acre Wood. And if I can squeeze in a cuddle with Pooh Bear along the way, well, that’s a birthday celebration I wouldn’t want to miss!
