We feel kinda like we’ve been watching paint dry for the past few weeks over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but just now, things just took a VERY interesting turn!
We’re so excited for Monstropolis to hit the park that we’re keeping a close eye out for nearly any and all updates that happen — that’s quite literally why we go back each and every day. There’s only so much we can see over the walls, but that’s not a problem for @bioreconstruct, who just got some AMAZING new photos of what’s happening. In fact, there’s even TRACK over at the park’s upcoming suspended coaster!
This is HUGE, considering it’s the first we’ve seen of actual track being added for the ride. Now, this coaster will be all indoors when complete, and it’s only because the walls aren’t fully complete that we can see the inside.
The new photos also show track supports and platforms that are staged on the ground. At least one brake run that separates “blocks” of track.
When you look at the building from afar, it’s easy to see just how massive this ride will be. It’s mostly situated behind Galaxy’s Edge, which is why you won’t be able to see it from inside the park.
It’s looking like the installation overall at the coaster is going well, and we hope this means we’ll get to see additional track added before the walls are finished and the building is closed off to our eyes.
According to @bioreconstruct, “At left in this aerial photo are supports for track leading into unload at the Monsters Inc. suspended door roller coaster. Arrow where steel sheeting is being added for a floor above unload. The ride will swoop through this upper floor and return to the main ride chamber.”
We also got a look at a curved part of the ride, and you can bet we’re really curious to see if that’s going to be visible inside the attraction as part of the ride, or if it’ll be hidden.
@bioreconstruct was also able to capture some of the additional pieces of track that are currently off to the side, ready to be added onto the ride.
As for the walls around the attraction, they’re also coming along well, but we’ve got a feeling it’ll be a while until it’s covered completely.
Those weren’t the only updates, either! We also got a great look at the new fountain coming to the land, which looks like it’ll be of an eye, if the concept art is anything to go by.
Bricks are also in the process of being placed at the front of the entrance to the land!
We also got an updated look at Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza!
While we’re constantly on alert for the Glob Theater sign, which still isn’t up, there is a TON of work being done on the exterior of the building. It’s scaffolding-central over there, that’s for sure.
Finally, there’s also a decent amount of movement over near where Harryhausen’s will be. It’s nice to see so much coming along!
@bioreconstruct also uploaded a video detailing a ton of the construction as well, which really puts a lot of it to scale.
