Nothing is more magical than the Christmas spirit, and Disney World knows how to make that feel true! Every year, Disney’s changing of the seasons from Halloween to Christmas is a wonder to behold for all. However, this year, Magic Kingdom faced some postponements due to rain.
While Christmas décor was promised to roll out throughout the week, a lot of guests were disappointed upon their arrival to Magic Kingdom on November 1st. This article by Jackie Gailey details some of the reactions and events surrounding Magic Kingdom’s warm Christmas welcome this year.
Nonetheless, the wait for the pièce de résistance is finally over! The centerpiece of all holiday magic has officially debuted at Magic Kingdom. Front and center on Main Street, U.S.A., stands the 65-foot-tall Christmas tree.

This beautiful Christmas tree stuns and captivates all, and I am so happy it is finally here. Christmas trees aren’t just iconic; they are fundamental to the spirit of Christmas. Even though it is only here for a few months out of the year, sometimes I cannot imagine what Main Street, U.S.A. looks like without it. It just fits in perfectly alongside the rest of the décor.
Lining every shop entrance and light post are gorgeous garlands and wreaths; it really just brings Main Street, U.S.A. to life. With all of these beautiful decorations come more photo opportunities. Even more Photopass cast members line the roads and walkways, ready to snap the perfect holiday card photo. Be sure to put on your Disney World holiday gear, which is fully stocked in the seasonal section of the Emporium at Magic Kingdom. I think the Minnie Ear Headbands for this year’s holiday collection are perfect and will match all of the décor wonderfully.

The holiday cheer even spreads to Liberty Square and Frontierland, with themed wreaths lining the entrances to all of the stores and restaurants, including the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Not only that, but I don’t think there is a more perfect time to visit the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. Even Adventureland is sporting some interesting themed wreaths and garlands along its entrance signage.

The décor only gets better at night, when the sun sets and the twinkling LED’s light up. Though the best time to see the décor might just be at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It is the event of the season at Magic Kingdom, with a special holiday parade and holiday-themed snacks to partake in; it is no shock that Disney wanted the atmosphere to be perfect. I highly recommend this article if you are considering attending, as it is the full foodie guide for the event! Mickey and Minnie adorn special Christmas outfits, and the backdrops for your photos just get better and better!
The décor is something to marvel at every year, and this year is no different. Though it might have been a late bloomer, it is always worth the wait.
