Water has returned to Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after being drained for refurbishment over the summer.
Echo Lake Refilled

When we stopped by the area on Tuesday, November 3, we noticed that the lake was being filled with water after it was drained in mid-August for a refurbishment of its props and Dockside Diner.

Some areas were more filled than others.
The lake is surrounded by Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Hollywood & Vine, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along Celebration.

A metal bridge was also placed in the lake so crew members could start setting up the Christmas tree as holiday events at Walt Disney World Resort start in a few days, including Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.

Take a look at what the Christmas decorations will look like in this aerial photo by bioreconstruct from the holiday season last year.
Over the past few months, the props inside the lake have gotten fresh paint and a refresh, including the fake tree stumps and logs, the S.S. Down the Hatch (which holds Dockside Diner), and Gertie the Dinosaur.

Gertie has not gotten a Christmas makeover just yet, but we suspect she will soon. To celebrate Santa Gertie returning soon, Carousel of Products has a Santa Gertie Dinosaur Plush available for pre-order.
