Jared Bush, the head of Disney Animation, says the villain in Frozen 3 may be more powerful than Elsa.
Frozen 3 Villain
Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios Jared Bush talked with Collider‘s Steve Weintraub about the Frozen franchise. “Well, Frozen 3 is out in one year. I will say, very exciting. Right now, literally as we speak, Kristen and Bobby Lopez are working on one of the movie’s most emotional songs right now. They are about five songs in.”
Discussing how Frozen 3 will offer something fresh for viewers who have been following the story for over a decade, “I’d say that we have a very special story in store for people. I think one that will surprise people.”
Specifically, the villain will offer a fresh storyline for the third installment. “And we have a brand-new character coming in, a new villain, into the world of Frozen, and someone who may be more powerful than Elsa. So, lots going on.” Bush further teased, “We’ve already recorded her multiple times. Stay tuned.”
As for how the third movie fits into the wider arc of Frozen, he confirmed there’s not a whole lot of time in between Frozen 2 and Frozen 3.
I’d say that, if you remember the end of Frozen 2, Kristoff finally proposed to Anna. This movie starts with their wedding. So, not a whole lot of time has passed between those. How much time? You’ll discover in the film.
Both the third and fourth installments in the series are being made together and will resolve all unanswered questions like “Who gave Elsa her powers?” and “What happened to Hans?”. Take a look at the outfits for third movie, as revealed at D23 this past August.
Kristen Bell shared on social media earlier this year that she was in the studio bringing Anna to life for this third film.
