Crews have dug more trenches and completed landscaping at the Coco ride construction site in Disney California Adventure.
Coco Ride Construction
Last month, several piles of black pipes had arrived on site. Most of these pipes are still visible but some have been moved out of site, possibly buried in trenches. One such trench runs just behind the tall fence near the road.
It looks like some of that trench has been filled back in and the dirt was flattened.
Now there are two trenches closer to Incredicoaster. One runs right behind the coaster, where crews appear to be installing more pipes.
Another trench is to the left, running right next to a single long pipe near the edge of the construction site.
There are more construction materials and machinery on site. A truck recently brought in green pipes, which were still stacked on its bed.
Meanwhile, landscaping and paving of the sidewalk outside the park has progressed. Crews appear to have finished planting trees between the construction site and the sidewalk. A length of pathway was recently repaved and another section, on the left, is awaiting concrete.
Coco Ride Details
Disney hasn’t announced a name for the Coco ride but revealed story details during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
Instead of simply retelling the story of Coco, the attraction is set one year later, following Miguel as he reminisces on his adventure. Miguel can now openly pursue music following the Rivera family’s reconciliation with its musical past and the restoration of Héctor’s place in the family’s history.
Imagineers are working closely with Pixar Animation Studios to incorporate references to both the original film and the upcoming Coco 2.
