Disney converted the ride to 2D in 2025. This year, they began adding props that help mask the seam between screens and set pieces. The kitchen scene received a giant box of spilled linguini a few months ago. More recently, Imagineers added a rat trap and order tickets. One order ticket is for the “Special Linguini.” Other tickets are for the “Sweetbread Special,” based on an order ticket seen in the Ratatouille film.

As Imagineering shared in a video about the new props, the rat trap is based on the animated trap Skinner gets his hand caught in just a few scenes later. Pixar gave Imagineers the model they used for animation so they could turn it into a larger-than-life prop.

The next big prop is a bumper bar under the dining cart. This is designed to look like an extension of the cart with rivets and a gold finish. It also houses speakers, which were relocated from behind the screen to help improve the audio experience for guests.

A giant charcuterie board was added at the same time as the linguini. The cheese block also hides a relocated speaker. Imagineers worked with the operations team to ensure the ride did not have to close for these prop installations, instead doing everything overnight.

The ride queue also has an animated shadow scene where the 3D glasses station used to be.
Disneyland Paris made similar updates to their version of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
