Disney+ is developing a new “Daredevil” series, with Matt Corman and Chris Ord attached to write and executive produce, Variety reports.
Corman and Ord are known for creating USA series “Covert Affairs.” They have also worked on “The Enemy Within,” “The Brave,” and “Containment.”
No other details have been released about the new series, including whether or not the new series would see the return of Charlie Cox as the title character. Cox portrayed Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil in the Netflix series from 2015 to 2018 before it was canceled. He reprised the role for a brief cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” this year.
Vincent D’Onofrio portrayed Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin in the Netflix “Daredevil” series and reprised the role in “Hawkeye,” with his fate somewhat unclear. His character was connected to Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo who will soon have her own show.
The Netflix shows were originally considered part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but their status as canon has been murky. Still, the appearances of Cox and D’Onofrio in recent projects are promising.
Representatives for Corman and Ord declined to comment in response to Variety.
