Greetings from Disney’s newest cruise ship!

We recently had the opportunity to set sail on the Disney Wish and are bringing you all the updates! We had a great time at the Christening Ceremony, and now are checking out all the offerings on board. We went and tried one of the new restaurants on board Disney’s largest cruise ship, and are here to tell you EXACTLY what we thought.

Marceline Market is one of the casual dining options on the Wish and is inspired by the town where Walt Disney grew up. This food hall allows guests to enjoy walk-up dining at any (or all!) of the 10 unique food stalls. 

Each stall is themed to a Disney animated story — Alice in Wonderland and Zootopia being just two examples — and offers a wide variety of freshly prepared cuisines. Guests can choose from American classics, international specialties, comfort foods, seafood, soups and salads, vegetarian and plant-based eats, baked goods, and desserts, all served buffet-style. Let’s check it out!

Atmosphere

The first thing you’ll probably notice about Marceline Market is just how much seating there is! Because it’s a food hall, the restaurant is meant to be able to hold and feed quite a few people at once. There’s some bar seating…

…plus plenty of inside and outside tables…

…and even some booths!

Here’s what the food stations look like — there are Cast Members there to help guests, but the food is served buffet-style.

Because this is a casual dining spot, there is a self-serve beverage station here, with soda and juices.

And there’s plenty of adorable decor as well!

There’s some farmhouse decor, as a nod to Walt’s upbringing in Marceline, Missouri.

There are even some touches of classic Disney movies throughout the restaurant, as well. For example, there’s this wall art that says “Maurice’s Mechanical Marvels,” which is a nod to Beauty and the Beast. Maurice is Belle’s dad and an inventor.

There are also subtle touches of Ratatouille. If you look into this cabinet, do you notice anything familiar?

On the bottom shelf, you might notice Chef Gusteau’s book Anyone Can Cook! from Ratatouille. You can also see the recipe for the ratatouille that Remy makes in the movie on the wall.

And next to that, framed, is Remy’s very first chef’s hat!

Alright, now that we’ve got a good feel for the vibes in this restaurant, it’s time to dig in to the food!

Eats

There are a wide range of cuisines served at Marceline Market, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served here. Each food station serves up different items, and these were some of the options when we dined for breakfast.

Of course, there were also Mickey Waffles and pancakes, too!

Marceline Market serves international cuisines as well, and there was a station for Asian-inspired foods when we visited. There was a Miso Congee and Egg Fried Rice.

We decided to go for the old standby, the Breakfast Express! This is your typical “American” fare — creamy scrambled eggs, large link sausage, crispy bacon, grilled tomato, and cajun roasted red skin potatoes.

The food was decent, but pretty standard breakfast fare. We were a little disappointed by the bacon, which was supposed to be crispy but was more on the chewy side — and not in a good way. They kind of tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp, and if we’re being honest, we wish we would have gone for the sausage instead.

The scrambled eggs were decent. They didn’t fall prey to the same heat lamp taste as the bacon, which we were happy about. There wasn’t really anything special about them, but they got the job done.

We really enjoyed the blistered tomato! It wasn’t too fancy, just a well-cooked, seasoned tomato with some seasoning, but we thought it was good.

We also had the potatoes which we enjoyed. They were cooked well and had some seasoning, so they weren’t bland. We ate ours with hot sauce.

Although we didn’t dine here for lunch or dinner, we’ll be sure to update you if we do in the future!

Overall

Marceline Market is going to be perfect for large groups with differing eating habits as there are so many different options to choose from. It has standard breakfast foods, but it’s also a great option if you’re on the go and don’t feel like sitting down to a full-service meal.

We enjoyed our time here and can’t wait to go back to try some of the other offerings!
