Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom has two new dishes to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World: Chicken Souvlaki Flatbread and Traditional Baklava.
Chicken Souvlaki Flatbread – $11.99
Marinated chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, tzatziki
This is just okay. The crust is the same as other flatbreads from Pinocchio Village Haus.
It’s not very crunchy in the middle, it’s just soft.
The chicken topping is dry. The tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions are concentrated to the center, so each bite is uneven.
The tzatziki is minimal. It was hard to find it within the rest of the flatbread.
There is a lot of cheese but it lacks seasoning, so sometimes the only flavors you get are cheese and vegetables.
This wasn’t terrible, but we wouldn’t order it again.
Traditional Baklava – $6.19
Featuring flavors of Greece with walnut and honey simple syrup
This looks really good, with its flaky layers and copious honey syrup.
Unfortunately, it’s not as crunchy as it looks. The bottom was even doughy.
This is full of granulated sugar, which overpowers any actual crunch you would get from the layers.
It tastes similar to a churro.
It’s also very small, so we finished it after only a few bites.
Neither of these is anything to write home about and there are plenty of other 50th anniversary dishes that are better.
