NEWS: Disney Releases a Statement After a Splash Mountain Boat Sank with Guests Aboard in Magic Kingdom

Splash Mountain ran into a bit of trouble over the weekend!

After an unexplained closure for a few days, Splash Mountain reopened in Magic Kingdom — but not without a hiccup. Some guests recently reported being inside a Splash Mountain log boat when it SANK! Uh oh! Now, Disney has released a statement.

Over the weekend, Twitter user @skyelaringrsoll tweeted a video of the Splash Mountain ride vehicle where she had just been seated completely submerged below the water.

 

According to Spectrum News 13, Disney has issued the following statement through a spokesperson: The incident happened toward the end of the ride and involved five visitors. All five visitors were able to get out of the ride vehicle safely.
