Along with Disney’s theme parks, the Disney Cruise Line has been experiencing major delays due to the global health crisis.

Recently, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention extended the suspension of cruise departures from the United States through September 30th, 2020 which prompted Disney Cruise Line to push back their resumptive sailing dates for Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy yet again.

During an earnings call last quarter, the CEO of Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek, stated Disney Cruise Line could be one of the last operations to resume, and so far his predictions seem to be coming true.

Today, however, there was some good news for the crew members sailing aboard two of the Disney fleet’s ships. Both the Disney Wonder and Disney Dream have been cleared by the CDC and given the status of “green” indicating both ships have had no confirmed cases of COVID-19 or COVID-like illness for 28 days.

A green ship status does not imply sailings for Disney Cruise Line guests will resume anytime soon, but now that commercial travel is permissible for both vessels, both Disney Wonder and Disney Dream will be able to dock at ports in Mexico or the Caribbean so that crew members can get back to their homes.

As for Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic, both ships are currently in Europe and haven’t appeared on the CDC’s list of approved ships yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as they do!
