See Which Airline Is the BEST in the World

There’s been a lot of news surrounding travel this year.

Travel has been in the news a lot lately

Many individuals are choosing to travel, whether that be hitting the road or taking to the skies, even in light of lots of delays and flight cancellations, as well as higher prices overall as inflation increases in the United States. With all that going on, many people are still choosing to travel. But how do you pick which airline to use? Each year, AirlineRatings.com produces a list of the world’s best airlines, and this year’s results are in. Let’s see which airlines made it!

AirlineRatings.com has several criteria for determining which each airline is the best, and the choices are measured by judges around the world. These criteria include safety, product ratings, passenger reviews, the age of the fleet, profitability, and the airline’s commitment to the environment. There are multiple categories that each airline could win (best cabin crew, best inflight entertainment, and best first class), but there’s only one overall winner. And this year’s winner is…Qatar Airways!

Qatar Airways was ranked number one “because of its cabin innovation, passenger service, and its commitment to continue to operate throughout the COVID pandemic.” In order to place in the top 20, airlines must meet the standards for a seven-star safety rating as well as be industry leaders and innovators of passenger comfort. Other airlines in the top 20 include Air New Zealand at the number 2 spot, as well as Virgin Atlantic, JetBlue, and Emirates.

Passenger comfort is considered when choosing the best airlines

So what other airlines made the list? Let’s take a look at all 20:

  • Qatar Airways
  • Air New Zealand
  • Etihad Airways
  • Korean Air
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Qantas
  • Virgin Australia
  • EVA Air
  • Turkish Airlines
  • All Nippon Airways
  • Cathay Pacific Airways
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Japan Air Lines
  • JetBlue
  • Finnair
  • Emirates
  • Hawaiian
  • Air France/KLM
  • Alaska Airlines
  • British Airways

Hawaiian Airlines, ranked at number 16 on this list, recently announced that it would be stopping service from Honolulu to Orlando due to staffing shortages. And JetBlue, ranked at number 14 on this list, has been in the news recently as the airline is trying to acquire Spirit Airlines, disrupting a deal that the budget airline had already made with Frontier. JetBlue is one of the many airlines that have canceled a lot of flights this summer.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is opening a third terminal later this year, with JetBlue set to be one of the airlines servicing it. The new terminal features lots of new technology, restaurants, and shopping and is currently scheduled to open in September.
