If you’re looking for some yummy Japanese eats during your trip to EPCOT, you’ve only got a few places to choose from right now.
Japan Pavilion at EPCOT
The 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is currently underway which means you can swing by the Japan food booth for some Frothy Ramen or Tempura Donburi! You can also trek up the hill to dine at Katsura Grill, which is now serving a few new menu items including a Menchi Katsu Slider and Yuzu Miso Wings.
For now, the rest of the Japan pavilion’s restaurants are still closed, but earlier today we noticed Teppan Edo was tinkering with their lunch and dinner menu!
Teppan Edo Before the Closures
If you’re not familiar with Teppan Edo, it’s a table service hibachi grill restaurant (think Disney’s version of Benihana) that sits above the Mitsukoshi Department Store. Chefs use a heated cook plate that’s built into the table to prepare fresh meals right before your eyes! There’s usually some theatrical maneuvers involving spatula twirling, dancing shrimp, and steaming volcanos made out piles of onions.
Teppan Edo
Needless to say, Teppan Edo would have to make some health and safety modifications before reopening, so we’ll be very curious to see how the dining experience will change. In the meantime, here are the changes they’ve recently made to their menu!
Items Removed From Teppan Edo’s Menu:
- Wafu Ribs
- Shrimp Tempura Roll
- Sunomono Salad
- Golden Grape
- Calpico Banana Fizz
- Toji Kan Futsu-Shu (Sake)
Items Added to Teppan Edo’s Menu:
- 6 oz. Filet Mignon, served with sunomono salad, udon noodles, vegetables, and steamed white rice for $38
- Tsukiji Scallop and Steak Combo for $39

Teppan Edo shares a waiting area with Tokyo Dining which is also still closed at this time.
We noticed Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria and Tutto Italia Ristorante tweaked their menus shortly before they announced their reopening over in the World Showcase’s Italy pavilion. Could this mean Teppan Edo is making preparations to reopen soon? We don’t know for sure yet, but we will be sure to tell you when we do.
