The Universal Monsters are well represented this year at Halloween Horror Nights 31. The Mummy has reopened, Universal Monsters: Legends Collide, a haunted house, sees the Wolfman, Dracula, and The Mummy fighting each other, and there are even some fun monster-themed food options. (For those looking to keep vampires away, the Philly Cheese “Stake” may seem like a good option!)

*NEW* Garlic Philly Cheese “Stake” – $10.99
Tender shaved beef, served on a black hoagie slider roll, with caramelized onions, peppers, sautéed mushrooms, Muenster cheese, roasted garlic aioli with curly fries
Sure, you’ll keep the vampires away, but possibly your friends and family as well. It might be worth it, though.
The presentation of this cheesesteak is on point. A little wooden stake is stabbed through the sandwich. This is an extremely filling dish that also comes with a small side of curly fries. The intense garlic flavor seemed to come from the cheese. You’ve been warned.
We highly recommend getting this one before visiting Universal Monsters: Legends Collide.
*NEW* Mummy’s Curse Tablet Cookie – $3.79
sugar cookie with gold dust
The curse is real! While these cookies look beautiful, they disappoint in taste.
The tiny hieroglyphics are so intricate and the presentation makes up a lot for what amounts to a bland butter cookie, but not enough for us to get it again.
Pass on this one and go for the Major Sweets Ice Cream Sandwich if you’re looking for a fantastic cookie.
*NEW* Tinsel Town Terror – $15.49
Old Forester bourbon, cherry brandy, sweet vermouth, Woodford cherry bitters, tart cherry syrup
Honestly, reading the ingredients, we felt terror. But once we took a sip, we were pleasantly surprised. The combination of bourbon and cherry created almost a smooth red wine flavor. This was refreshing and light.
While we fully anticipated a cough syrup taste, this was the complete opposite and it turned out to be a star. It won’t be for everyone, but it was one of our favorite drinks of the night. It just goes to show that much like the monsters themselves, not all is as it seems.
Location of the Universal Monsters Food Booth at Halloween Horror Nights 31
This booth can be found in the KidZone area of the park, and we highly recommend hitting this booth to gather your courage before meeting the monsters face to face in Universal Monsters: Legends Collide.
