Crews have started painting the faux rocks of Journey of Water Inspired by Moana in World Nature at EPCOT.
The rocks in this circle are now more brown than grey. This reflects the model we saw sitting on scaffolding.
The rockwork is still surrounded by scaffolding.
A building in the background is also under construction.
Rockwork is coming together in the center. A yellow square hangs from scaffolding in front of an area where we saw crew members working on a Te Fiti spiral.
Rocks don’t yet cover all of the concrete walls.
Pathways are becoming more defined throughout the walkthrough attraction.
There are two large metal canopies at one end of the construction site.
Walt Disney Imagineering shared design details about Journey of Water a few weeks ago and we learned at D23 that the attraction will have a 16-foot-tall Te Fiti statue. The attraction is set to open in late 2023.
