As Hurricane Ian starts to travel inland, people staying in Central Florida are on high alert.
With the theme parks and the airport closed, both locals and visitors are hunkering down and preparing to weather the storm as it arrives in full force later on Wednesday. However, there seems to be no “calm before the storm” as tornadoes become the next threat for the area.
We reported earlier that Central Florida was under a tornado watch, but now that has leveled up to a tornado warning for Osceola and Brevard counties. A severe thunderstorm in the area is showing rotation, which puts the areas in the “warning” tier until at least 3:30PM ET, according to the Fox 35 Storm Team.
ALERT: Tornado Warning issued for Osceola until 9/28 3:30PM. This means a tornado has been detected on radar or physically sighted. Stay with @FOX35Orlando for updates LIVE on TV and streaming –> https://t.co/LoFKtuI6wW pic.twitter.com/xoBuzfQkeH

We’ll continue to update you on the tornado situation as necessary. The hurricane itself is a Category 4, but has winds just a few mph shy of becoming a Category 5. It’s expected to bring life-threatening storm surges, flooding, and catastrophic winds. If you’re in the area, make sure to find somewhere safe to stay until it passes.
Part of Disney World is in Osceola County, so this may affect those staying on property. The hurricane is projected to affect Central Florida late Wednesday and into Thursday, but keep in mind that the path could change at any point.
If you’re traveling and the hurricane has affected your plans, make sure to keep following along for all the cancelation and refund policies you need to know. The theme parks are changing the typical rules for booking due to the storm.
