A missing snack, Walt Disney World Railroad construction, and a LOT of new souvenirs — Magic Kingdom has seen quite a few changes over the last few days!
If you haven’t been to Disney World recently, you’ve probably missed some of the updates over in Disney World’s most popular park. But don’t worry — we have all the info you need to stay current on the changes! Follow along with us as we show you everything that’s NEW in Magic Kingdom.
Before we get to the updates…are you visiting Magic Kingdom soon? If so, be sure to download our free checklist for this park so that you don’t miss out on any of the rides, attractions, and snacks! Click the link below and enter your email to get this checklist sent directly to your inbox.
Let’s start out with an update about the Main Street Confectionery, which is a popular place to grab a treat!
Magic Kingdom Food Updates
The Main Street Confectionery
At the Main Street Confectionery, you can visit the Kernel Kitchen to create your own customized mix of Disney popcorn, adding in treats and sauce drizzles. You can build your own from scratch or order one of the suggested combinations.
When we stopped by recently, we saw that the rainbow popcorn was missing from the Kernel Kitchen’s mixing area. So if you wanted to create a mix using that flavor of popcorn, you might be out of luck. There are other popcorn flavors to choose from, though, including caramel popcorn if you’re looking for a sweet treat!
The Cast Members didn’t have an expected date for it to return, but it’s likely to come back at some point soon. We’ll be watching for its return!

Magic Kingdom Construction Updates
Walt Disney World Railroad Construction
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed in this park for a long time, partially because construction on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster has interrupted the tracks over in Tomorrowland. Lately, we’ve seen lots of construction work near the Fantasyland railroad station, with new tracks being laid down over there. And the updates on the rusty water tower over here are finally complete now!
We’re hoping this update means that the Railroad will open soon, but it’s possible that it could remain closed until TRON construction wraps up. That coaster is expected to be finished in the spring of 2023.
TRON: Lightcycle Run Construction
And speaking of TRON, we saw some updates on the construction site for this coaster as well. You can see the whole site pretty well if you take a ride on the PeopleMover. The crew has been working on the entrance area, which now has more concrete pathways and some planters as well.
If you check out this site after dark, you might be able to catch Disney testing out the lighting for the attraction as well.
