Going to Disney World isn’t always easy these days!
You have to buy your tickets, make park pass reservations, book a hotel, figure out where to eat, and oh yeah — pay attention to all the construction going on around Disney World! New attractions, restaurants, and plenty more projects are being worked on daily, and we do our best to keep up with it so you don’t have to. Chances are a lot has changed since we last checked in, so let’s take a look at the biggest construction updates from this week in Disney World!
Magic Kingdom
Center Street
Part of the pavement resurfacing has been completed on Center Street in Magic Kingdom! The brick pavers were replaced, and now it looks like the tables and chairs are accessible once again. Pro-tip: this can be a great spot to escape those crowds and take a little break from the chaos.
There’s still some work to be done on the pavers closer to Main Street, U.S.A., but we’ll keep an eye out and bring you the latest updates.
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Fantasyland Train Station water tower has been revealed! It had been covered up by scaffolding and scrim, but hopefully, this means we’re one step closer to being able to board the Walt Disney World Railroad again.
The train has been out of commission due to the construction of TRON, but with TRON opening in spring 2023, we’re hoping the railroad will be soon to follow.
TRON: Lightcycle Run
And speaking of TRON, things are really starting to come together on the ground in front of the canopy. You can see that the concrete looks to be finished in the lower right foreground of the below photo!
Crews have been hard at work constructing the remaining concrete pads and walls — we can’t wait to see what it will look like once it’s finally complete!

EPCOT
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza
A large structure is starting to take shape over in the area where CommuniCore Hall and Plaza will eventually be located.
The new hall and plaza will be the new “home base” for EPCOT’s seasonal Festivals and live events! CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza will be housed in EPCOT’s World Celebration and are slated to be completed in late 2023.
Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
The rock formations at Disney’s new Moana-themed attraction are currently covered by scaffolding, and it looks like more of the ground around the rocks has been cleared as well.
Disney revealed at the 2022 D23 Expo that Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana would be opening sometime in late 2023.

Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Something exciting has popped up over in Toy Story Land, though we’re not totally sure what it could be yet. If we had to guess, it looks like some sort of signage for Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ! It’s currently covered by scrim or canvas, but there are two lanterns attached to the structure!
Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ is slated to open up by the end of 2022, so stay tuned for the latest updates!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
And finally, there’s some exterior work going on over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Part of this building’s facade is completely covered up by scaffolding — keep this in mind if you’re thinking about booking a stay here any time soon!
