Gingerbread shingles and paneling now cover most of the gingerbread house framework at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
The gingerbread house is an annual tradition at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and can be found in the resort’s lobby.
The house is the same basic shape every year, made with the same framework, but smaller details change. Last year’s house featured 50th anniversary decorations, which will likely return for this year’s display.
A sign next to the house lists all of its ingredients, including 1,050 pounds of honey and 700 pounds of chocolate.
While the gingerbread shingles and panels continue to be installed, smaller details have not yet been added.
Golden ribbon is wrapped around the chimneys, just like last year.
Cast Members will be able to stand inside the gingerbread house to operate the shop, which is usually open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. once the gingerbread house is completed.
Last year, the house was completed and open by November 10.
The window frames, shutters, and trim are golden.
Other resorts have followed in the footsteps of the Grand Floridian and also feature an annual gingerbread display. Disney’s Beach Club Resort features a gingerbread carousel with a different theme each year.
Light-up presents sit inside this roof gable, visible from the back of the gingerbread house.
The TV mounted on the back of the house usually plays videos about the baking, construction, and deconstruction of the gingerbread house.
