A lamppost broke at the base and fell into the path of guests at the entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios today. This comes just weeks after part of the Keystone Clothiers façade collapsed.
The incident was reported by Brynn Walter-Schreader on a Facebook group for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. According to Walter-Schreader, no one was injured from the falling post or the broken glass.
The lamppost was just inside the tapstiles at the entrance of the park. Disney security and Cast Members were on the scene to keep guests away from the potentially dangerous debris.
The post broke just above the base and fell on the pavement below.
As pictured in the photo above, the lampshades shattered on impact. They were found a few feet from the fallen post.
The cause of the break was unknown at the time of publication.
When the façade of Keystone Clothiers broke last month, it was reportedly the result of an ECV collision. The repairs on the shop have yet to be completed, with construction walls still in place.
Elsewhere around Disney’s Hollywood Studios, holiday decorations have been going up, including the return of Santa Gertie and the Toy Story Land decorations.
