Top 3 Things You MUST Do at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

These holiday parties at Magic Kingdom can be jam-packed with things to experience and crowds. This is why it is crucial to plan and nail down what is most important for you and your travel party. To be completely transparent, I haven’t been to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party since 2018, and before that, I think the last time I went was with my family when I was a kid. So this isn’t my first time, but I’m not a seasoned veteran like many on our team. I had such a fun time, even if it did rain the entire time we were there. Here are the three things I think are a must-do for this event.

#1 Watch the Fireworks and Parade

On nights when it rains, it’s hard to see all of the entertainment offerings because stage shows, parades, and fireworks can be canceled due to inclement weather. Thankfully on the first night, even with all the rain, one full parade was able to perform, and we could see the fireworks. I love the Christmas parade for many reasons, but the main reason is that it gets me in that jolly holiday mood. Fireworks are always fun. I prefer Holidays Wishes, but Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks was cute. Minnie isn’t in it a lot; she pops in here and there, but I love the music for this show. To me, special events like this are worth it if you take the time to enjoy the entertainment.

#2 Meet a Character!

There are many character meet and greets throughout Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The My Disney Experience app lists all the locations so guests can find the characters they want to meet. With rain being in the equation, it can be hard to find them because sometimes they have to change locations. I wanted to see Snow White and The Price; they were one of the characters that kept moving around due to the weather. They met at the Castle Wall, which is near Maurice’s Cottage. I hopped into the empty line two minutes before their scheduled time, and it was such a fun experience. It brought back memories from when I was a kid, and they used to have a whole section of the princesses in their holiday outfits during the party. Guests could walk up to them if my memory serves me right; I believe Cinderella’s carriage was there. I have to find a picture and see if I am right.

#3 Eat Snacks

Take some time to eat snacks, whether those from the treat trails or the party-exclusive food items. There isn’t enough time to try all the food offered at the party but make a list of three things that catch your eye. Some of the treats are actually good this year, especially the new ones. Plus, sometimes, when we are having fun, we forget to eat, so making this plan will help you remember to stop and grab a bite. Back in 2018, I got so many cookies from the different trails, and when I got home, I noticed I got enough to last me two months. That alone made the event worth the ticket price. Remember, in 2018, the tickets started at $95, not $149.

Those are my three must-dos for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party; I am a sucker for treats, characters, and parades. I would love to know what your list looks like for this event. Let us know in the comments below!
