BREAKING: Tarzan’s Treehouse Becoming Swiss Family-Inspired Adventureland Treehouse at Disneyland Park

Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland Park is returning to its roots and being transformed into the Adventureland Treehouse, with an original story partially inspired by “Swiss Family Robinson.”

Before it was Tarzan’s Treehouse, the attraction was Swiss Family Treehouse, which it remains at Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disneyland. Tarzan’s Treehouse closed in late 2021, but Disney only announced in April 2022 that it would be rethemed.

Instead of being inspired by a different IP (it was rumored it could be “Encanto”-themed), the treehouse will have an original story about a family living in a treehouse. It will look more like the original 1962 Swiss Family Treehouse, including a water wheel at the entrance, but the family is different.

Inside, guests will find fascinating rooms that the family in this new story created for one another. From the mother’s music den (above concept art) and the young sons’ nature room to the teenage daughter’s astronomer’s loft, all things are fashioned from found objects, natural resources, and pure ingenuity.

For those who would rather stay on terra firma, the bottom floor will showcase an ingenious kitchen and dining room, along with the father’s art studio, displaying hand-drawn sketches and paintings of each of the rooms. This expanded ground floor will make the attraction more accessible.

The Adventureland Treehouse is set to be completed in 2023.
