The ONE Thing You Should Get at Disneyland’s Merry Mashups Festival Booth

The Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure runs from November 11th, 2022 through January 8th, 2023, but it just so happens that some booths opened EARLY!

Merry Mashups Booth

Of course, we had to check them after reading about all those delicious eats coming to the festival! We hope you’re feeling adventurous because we’re checking out a booth known for its “fun fusions of seasonal favorites” — so come with us to Merry Mashups!

It’s time to get merry over at Merry Mashups — let’s hope we feel merry about the eats and drinks!

Menu

Merry Mashups is all about “fun fusions of seasonal favorites” and there are three different fun fusions on the menu! There’s a Turkey Poutine and Esquites Carnitas Mac and Cheese

…and a Spicy Apple Cider Margarita, too! These sound like promising menu items and we’ve had the Mac and Cheese in the past, so let’s check them out.

Eats

First up, we tried the Esquites Carnitas Mac and Cheese made with carnitas, salsa macha, spiced puffed rice, freeze-dried corn, and chopped cilantro for $8.50. This is a repeat dish from last year!

Okay — this might just be our absolute favorite dish we tried, or at least one of them! Seriously, there were so many incredible flavors going on here, but none of them overpowered the other. It was a pretty good portion as well, but we did find ourselves wanting more just because it was so good!

Esquites Carnitas Mac and Cheese

Unfortunately, we didn’t love the Turkey Poutine quite as much. This is layers of roasted turkey, sweet potato bites, cheese curds and gravy, and topped with frosted cranberries for $8.

We thought the cheese curds were a little soft and mushy instead of being firm and squeaky, and the turkey wasn’t great in terms of flavor or consistency. We did enjoy the sweet potato puffs (basically tots) and frosted cranberries, though!

Turkey Poutine

One dish is a must-get while the other is a pass — let’s see how the drink at this booth tastes!

Drinks

At Merry Mashups, you’ll find the Spicy Apple Cider Margarita made with Reposado Tequila, apple cider, house-made ghost pepper-cinnamon syrup, raspberry syrup and lime juice, garnished with an apple chip for $15.00. This drink was SPICY but it was also really, really delicious. At first you just taste the apple flavor, and then you’re hit with a bit of that heat!

Spicy Apple Cider Margarita

Luckily, it wasn’t too spicy to drink and we really enjoyed this fun twist on both apple cider and a margarita!

Overall

Give the Merry Mashups booth a try if you’re looking for something a bit different! The Esquites Carnitas Mac and Cheese is worth a visit to this booth alone, and the Spiced Apple Cider Margarita was a refreshingly spicy cocktail. This probably isn’t the booth for picky eaters or those looking for classic dishes that aren’t too adventurous — but we think it’s worth a visit!
