A new Disney Springs restaurant, Summer House on the Lake, was announced earlier this summer and will be opening in 2023, we have no firm date, but nonetheless, a new restaurant opening is exciting. Before we get into the construction progress, let’s discuss what we should expect from this new dining location.
The fabulous Jackie Gailey wrote up an article when this eatery was announced and explained everything we needed to know about the location and what we should expect.
According to their website, they are a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant that serves California-influenced food spotlighting locally sourced produce and ingredients whenever possible. Their menu features salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, pizzas, and more. Their existing locations in Maryland and Chicago both serve a Weekend Brunch and we’re hoping that they’ll have it available at their future Disney Springs location as well.
Today I came to Disney Springs to see what progress has been made on the location. It’s always exciting to see anything peeking over construction walls, and as I approached the site, I could see scaffolding towering over the walls. Again there is no confirmed opening date, but let’s play a guessing game; why not.

After looking at these photos, when do you think this restaurant could open? I believe Summer House on the Lake could be ready to open in the summer if they don’t have any more pushbacks (Hurricane Ian and Nicole, I’m looking at you). As Jackie mentioned above, they could possibly serve brunch, which excites me because I love brunch; it’s my favorite meal.
