Disney World was BUSY this past week as crowds flocked to the parks for Thanksgiving break. We saw big crowds and long wait times, but the rush may slow down this coming week as folks return to school and work.
If you’re heading to Disney World and hoping to hit that sweet spot in between holidays, you’ll want to know what’s going to be CLOSED during your upcoming vacation. Take a look at all the temporary closures at the parks and hotels here!
But before we get to the closures…do you already have your bags packed for your trip? If you’re going to visit Disney World soon, you’ll need the perfect outfit to wear into the parks! We’ve got a lot of great tees and sweatshirts (including some holiday designs!) at our online DFB store — Click here to check out our whole merch line.
Now that you’re ready with the perfect Disney ‘fits, check out our full list of what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World this week.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
Disney has dropped several hints that the Walt Disney World Railroad could reopen soon. They released a video of the trains being tested, and we’ve seen the trains at the Main Street and Fantasyland stations several times now.
Although we still don’t have an official reopening date for the Railroad, we’re hoping that Disney will announce its return soon! One Cast Member told us that the trains need to be tested very thoroughly before reopening, so it’s possible that it’ll still be a few months before we see this attraction return.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Over in Tomorrowland, one gift shop is still closed: the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. This shop is located at the exit of Space Mountain, so guests are being directed to exit the ride a different way for now.
Light & Power Co. is getting some updates to its interior and exterior, and Disney hasn’t officially announced when it’ll reopen.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Enchanted Tales with Belle is a character meet-and-greet attraction where guests could help Belle tell the story of Beauty and the Beast. This attraction is still closed, and Disney hasn’t announced when it will reopen.
However, you can sometimes still find Belle greeting guests close to the attraction.
Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
Another Disney princess meet-and-greet is closed in Fantasyland: Ariel’s Grotto. Disney hasn’t announced when Ariel will return to her meet-and-greet location, either.
You can still ride on the Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction nearby, so Little Mermaid fans aren’t completely out of luck!
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
One more character meet-and-greet spot that’s still closed in Magic Kingdom is Pete’s Silly Sideshow. This is where guests could meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy, who were all dressed in their circus performer outfits.
This location is closed now, but Disney has announced that it’ll reopen sometime “in the coming months.” We’ll be watching for more updates!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Voyage of the Little Mermaid is a stage show in Hollywood Studios. This show has been closed for a long time now.
Disney hasn’t announced when or if the Voyage of the Little Mermaid will reopen.
Check out the BEST places to eat in Hollywood Studios.
EPCOT
American Adventure Show
The American Adventure show (in EPCOT’s World Showcase) is still closed. Disney hasn’t officially announced a reopening date, but we might have found a clue about when this show will return.
The American Adventure disappears from Disney’s refurbishments calendar on December 17th, so it’s possible that it will reopen on that date. Sometimes attractions will disappear and then reappear (possibly due to errors on the webpage), so we’ll watch for any updates.
Cool Wash
Cool Wash has apparently been renamed “Refreshment Station,” according to a new sign that we spotted at this little kiosk.
Disney still hasn’t announced when it’ll reopen (it’s currently blocked off by several potted plants), but we’ll watch for any changes.

Disney World Hotels
Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Narcoossee’s is an upscale seafood restaurant at the Grand Floridian, and it’s been closed for several months now.
This restaurant will reopen sometime in 2023 with an “enhanced dining experience.”
Oak Manor Leisure Pool at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside
The Oak Manor Leisure Pool in Magnolia Bend at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside closed on November 14th for refurbishment. All other pools at this hotel remain open, including Ol’ Man Island Pool.
The pool is scheduled to reopen sometime in mid-December.

Disney World Water Parks
Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon is closed in Disney World, and Disney hasn’t announced when it’ll reopen.
Disney World’s other water park, Blizzard Beach, is open!
